Dinette in salon

Since taking delivery of Dora Mac in June 2007, we have made additions to the boat including an engine oil change system, a 100 amp/24 volt charger, AIS, dinghy motor, new heavier anchor, drill press and anvil, flybridge VHF radio, satelite TV dish, Sailmail modem, and updated and revised a number of existing systems.

Dora Mac is a very comfortable home for two people. She has two toilets; two sleeping cabins for four people but using the salon settee which turns into a double bed, the pilothouse settee and the outside cockpit, nine people can sleep on the boat. When we are at the dock in a marina the air conditioners keep the boat cool, we have a clothes washing and drying machine, we have internet connection on the boat, one refrigerator and two freezers, and a full galley with propane and electric stove. We have a trash compactor. We also have a TV and AM/FM radio.

Our navigation equipment consists of a Raymarine E120 chartplotter in the pilothouse and an E80 on the flybridge. We have a total of three GPS receivers plus a hand held, and a GPS compass. We are equipped with AIS, Auto Identification System, and two auto pilots to automatically steer the boat to a heading.

Our communication equipment consists of a ICOM 602 VHF radio, a ICOM 803 HF radio, and a Sailmail modem for using conventional email through our HF radio. Generally we obtain a handheld cell phone for the country we are in.

Electrical system. We have AC 240 volt for our bigger appliances and receptacles for small appliances; we have AC 110 volt receptacles for our small US appliances. We have a DC 24 volt system for our main battery bank, bow thruster, windless, refrigerator, freezer, radar, and water and fuel pumps. We have a DC 12 volt system for our illumination cabin lights, electronics, and radios. Both the main engine and gen-set use 12 volts for starting.

Our safety equipment consists of life jackets, flares, six man liferaft, and EPIRB (electronic position indicator radio beacon) We also carry a handheld VHF radio.
