The picture of the Malaysian oil tanker was sent to us by our friends Patrick and Elizabeth on the sailing vessel Labarque. Reports put the oil spill at between 2,500 and 5,000 tons. Singapore is well organized and had containment vessels on the scene with in a very short time although I read one beach has been closed as a result of the spill.
Ruth and I are packing lots of warm clothes for our Tibet trip. We leave the boat tomorrow and fly to Macau on Thursday. We will have to pick up a new camera in SG. Ruth’s camera has quit working.
